Geoffrey Arend (born February 28, 1978) is an American actor who portrays Matt Mahoney on Madam Secretary. Arend is known for his roles in the ABC medical drama series Body of Proof, the Amazon Prime Video legal drama series Goliath, and the Apple TV+ comedy series Physical. He is also known for his appearances in the films 500 Days of Summer and Super Troopers.
Arend was born in New York City, the son of Geoffrey D. Arend Sr. and Sabiha Khan Arend. His father is an American of German and English descent; his mother is Pakistani. Arend graduated from the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in 1996.
